ELIGIBILITY
ORGANIZATIONS
501 (c) 3 public charitable organizations whose purposes, programs or projects fits within the mission of the Joseph Robert Foundation are eligible to apply. Emerging not-for-profit organizations that do not have their 501 (c) 3 designation may apply through a fiscal conduit.
Organizations must have been in existence for one full calendar year (January through December) in order to apply.
Smaller organizations with budgets under $300,000 will be given priority, and organizations with budgets significantly higher will in most circumstances not be considered, except for in emergency situations. Organizations that have received JRF funding in the past but whose budgets have significantly increased will be assessed on an individual basis for continued funding. Organizations that are not clear about their financial status may request clarification by emailing us at info@josephrobert.org prior to applying.
Organizations must be located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U. S.: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Projects or programs for which funding is requested must also be located in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Organizations that have been prior recipients of JRF funding may re-apply for future grant periods.
INDIVIDUALS
Visual artists
Visual artists over the age of 18 whose primary residence is in the mid-Atlantic states and who are not full-time students can apply for a limited number of grants for projects that promote their non-academic professional development. Projects/residencies taking place in the mid-Atlantic region are preferred and will be given priority.
